About Reading poetry is a pleasure for which too few of us have the time to spare. My aim, as editor, is to make poetry as accessible as possible: simple pages, simple formatting, exquisite poetry. Autumn Sky Poetry publishes four issues per year, during the months of January, April, July, and October. Every issue contains ten poems by ten different poets. Each poem is one that caught my eye, held my attention, said something profound. The poets may hail from all across our lovely planet and their poems may speak in many different voices, but each one is worth savoring. Submission Guidelines Check out Autumn Sky Poetry — the blog. We are interested in both formal and free-verse. We consider previously published poems: work that has appeared either in print or on the web. We accept simultaneous submissions with notification. We do not accept responsibility for lost or damaged submissions. However, feel free to inquire if you do not receive an acknowledgement of receipt. Do not submit more than once every six months. If you’ve already submitted, please wait to hear yea or nay from me before submitting again. There is no payment for contributors at this time. How to submit: —1. Submit no more than four poems in the body of an email to: autumnskypoetryeditor@gmail.com. If more than four poems are present, the editor will read only the first four poems. —2. The word “Submission” must appear in the subject heading. If this word is not present, your submission may get lost in our spam box. —3. Please include a short bio with your submission. We reserve the right to edit bios upon acceptance. —4. Do not send attachments. Any email with attachments will be discarded unopened. If your poem includes special formatting, send us an email stating that you wish to send an attachment and we will get back to you as soon as possible. —5. Do not submit poems longer than 70 lines. An acknowledgement of receipt is sent for every submission. If you do not receive an acknowledgement of receipt within one week, please feel free to inquire. After submitting, you will hear from us the during the last week or so before the next issue is due to go live on the web. In other words, if you submit in February, you will receive a response the last week of March/first week of April. If you submit in May, you will receive a response the last week of June/first week of July. If you don’t want to wait a long time to hear about the status of your submission, send us your poems the last week of the month prior to our issue release. That way you will only have to wait, at most, two weeks. We release issues in January, April, July, and October.
